Before booking:

At the Haus am Dom, you book a spacious apartment while also receiving the service of a hotel. As hosts, we not only welcome you, but are also available to help and advise you during your stay. Our apartments are larger than rooms at most hotels – you have more space and also a small kitchen to cater for yourself. Regular cleaning of the apartment and free high-speed internet are included. The Haus am Dom combines the best of an apartment and a hotel.​​​​​​

This depends on the rate booked. If you have reserved an apartment that cannot be cancelled free of charge, you pay directly when making your booking. If you have booked a rate that can be cancelled free of charge up to 30 days before arrival, we will only charge your credit card 30 days before arrival. If you have booked free cancellation up to 1 day before arrival, payment will only be due at that point.

The bed levy, bed tax, lodging tax, accommodation tax or culture and tourism tax is a tax that overnight establishments such as hotels have to pay to the municipality based on a statute. The city of Cologne charges a fee of 5% on the total price of the accommodation. Accommodation is exempt from taxation if it is imperative for professional reasons. As an apartment building, we therefore collect this tax and forward it to the city of Cologne. With the income from the tax, the city supports institutions in the fields of culture, education and tourism.

No, we will, of course, provide you with bed linen and towels free of charge. Our bed linen is not only professionally cleaned and suitable for allergy sufferers, it is also climate-friendly.

Yes. Everything is provided. There is also a kettle, a coffee maker and a small kitchen with everything you will need (crockery, cutlery, pots, pans and more).

Yes, spaces cost €15 per night. We recommend making a reservation in advance, preferably by email to info@haus-am-dom.com.

During your stay

Check-in is guaranteed from 2:30 p.m. Are you arriving in Cologne earlier than that? No problem. You are welcome to leave your luggage with us and explore the city unburdened.

Please give us your approximate arrival time in good time. Our reception is not staffed all the time.

Check out is until 11:00 a.m. Even then, we can store your luggage with us so that you can still experience the city on your day of departure without having to carry heavy suitcases or bags with you.

No, but right around the corner there is the Höschler bakery. Incidentally, the Butterbäcker Höschler. is an excellent 5-star bakery and one of the best in Germany.

 

No. Smoking is not permitted in the apartments. If you would like, you can smoke in our courtyard.

Yes. Just a 5-minute walk away you, will find the Eigelstein – a shopping street with a bakery, supermarkets (Rewe, Lidl, Karadag (halal)), a and a laundry. So, nothing stands in the way of self-sufficiency.

Private travel requires at least a negative Corona antigen test (max. 48 hours old) or a complete vaccination record or proof of recovery. Please present proof at check-in. Testing during the stay is only necessary again after the fourth night.

In order to protect us all from infection, we ask you to adhere to the rules regarding distancing, hygiene measures and masks. Please wear a mask during check-in and while in the corridors and hallways. Use the disinfectant dispenser in the hallway and the disinfectant in your apartment. Please also ensure that you observe the minimum distance from others.

Your well-being is very important to us, especially in this special time, and is of the greatest importance to us. We have again expanded and improved our hygiene measures in order to enable our guests and employees to stay safe. We will always adapt our efforts to the recommendations of the WHO and in accordance with the requirements of the authorities of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia. Our measures:

  • Wearing a face mask is mandatory in public areas
  • Disinfectant dispenser is available at the entrance
  • Regular cleaning of door handles, railings and elevator buttons
  • Plexiglass partitions at the reception
  • Disinfection of the room key
  • Every apartment is thoroughly disinfected before arrival
  • intensive ventilation after departure
  • Bed linen and towels are washed at at least 60 degrees
  • Disinfection measures for objects and surfaces that are used particularly frequently - light switches, door handles, remote controls, heating thermostats, toilet paper holder / flushing
  • Hand sanitizer is available in the apartment
  • Daily cleaning is not required during your stay, as this is prohibited by the authorities and is intended to protect you and us from possible infection.

After your stay:

Of course. We would be happy to send you an invoice in your name or in your company's name.

But, of course! We will be happy to store your luggage so that you can enjoy your last day in our city unburdened. Please just give us the approximate pick-up time when you check out.

Please let us know. In return for the postage costs (we only ship insured parcels with a tracking number), we will be happy to send you the items you forgot.
